Hi there. Thanks for reading. I'm a senior at Washington University in St. Louis. I major in medical humanities (which means I take a lot of history and anthropology classes about the body, health, and representation); I'm also a writing and classics (Latin) minor.
My degrees, though, don't say much about what I do. I write stories. At my best, I write those stories about real people, real places, and real problems. Sometimes, I interview musicians or make sounds and moving pictures. Hopefully, that means that one day I'll be a journalist.
So why make a web development portfolio? These days, some people say storytelling, journalism, and digital communication aren't all that separate. Mostly, web development (and, one day, coding) gives me more control over how I tell stories.
So that's me, and what's why I'm here.
I also bake a lot.
